OEM Platforms & Brands Supported
GMA PowerTech works across the major generator and engine OEMs that dominate industrial, commercial, and critical-facility power — from residential standby through utility-scale prime power.
Request Technical SupportMajor Generator & Engine OEMs
The industry is dominated by several key manufacturers, each occupying distinct niches from residential standby to heavy industrial prime power.
Caterpillar (Cat)
The global heavyweight in industrial power generation, manufacturing heavy-duty diesel and gas gensets. Known for high power density, extreme durability, and a proprietary ecosystem including Cat ET software and EMCP controls.
Cummins
A vertically integrated manufacturer building its own blocks, alternators (Stamford/AvK), and PowerCommand controls. A primary competitor to Cat in utility-scale, data center, and prime power applications.
Perkins
A Caterpillar subsidiary specializing in efficient compact-to-medium diesel and gas engines, supplying prime movers for dozens of third-party generator packagers worldwide.
FG Wilson
A major UK packaging specialist building generator sets with Perkins engines and Leroy Somer alternators, serving commercial and telecommunications sectors globally.
SDMO (Kohler-SDMO)
One of Europe’s largest generator manufacturers, using engines from Volvo, John Deere, and Baudouin. Prominent in industrial, marine, and rental fleet power markets.
Generac Industrial Power
Market leader in residential and commercial gaseous standby generators, expanding into large-scale modular industrial diesel systems and battery storage integration.
Olympian
Historically packaged by FG Wilson for Caterpillar dealers as an entry-to-mid-range portfolio for prime and standby power, standardized on Perkins engines.
Beyond the Core Portfolio
Beyond the core portfolio above, GMA PowerTech also supports additional global OEM platforms common in independent packaging and critical infrastructure.
MTU Onsite Energy (Rolls-Royce Power Systems)
High-end diesel systems dominating data centers and mission-critical infrastructure due to exceptional block-load acceptance capabilities.
Volvo Penta
Premium heavy-duty diesel engines used by independent genset packagers worldwide, known for fuel economy and stringent emissions compliance.
Baudouin
A rapidly growing manufacturer providing high-displacement, cost-effective mechanical and electronic engines for heavy industrial power generation.
Proprietary OEM Control Systems
These controllers act as the brain of the generator set. They handle everything from engine safety parameters — oil pressure, coolant temperature, and overspeed — to power monitoring, voltage regulation, and automated transfer switching. GMA PowerTech supports diagnostics, configuration, and lifecycle management across major OEM control platforms.
Caterpillar EMCP (Electronic Modular Control Panel)
Currently in its EMCP 4 generation, Caterpillar’s proprietary control platform integrates engine governance, voltage regulation, and advanced thermal management into a single interface, with deep diagnostics for Cat engines via the Cat Data Link.
Perkins / FG Wilson Power Wizard
A highly reliable control platform used predominantly on Perkins-powered gensets. It features an intuitive menu structure for tracking engine metrics and electrical AC parameters, with built-in protections against over-current, under-voltage, and reverse power.
SDMO / Kohler Mics & Telys
Specialized control panels for Kohler-SDMO units — including older Mics Nexys/Telys and modern APM systems. Highly regarded for robust communications and straightforward integration into plant monitoring via Modbus.
Cummins PowerCommand Control (PCC)
A fully integrated, microprocessor-based control system standard on Cummins Power Generation units. Combines digital voltage regulation (DVR), electronic governing, and autonomous paralleling logic (AmpSentry protection) on a single control board without external modules.
Generac Evolution / Power Zone
Generac’s control architecture for gas and diesel standby systems. Newer Power Zone controllers use a color touchscreen interface with native Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity for remote monitoring via the Mobile Link platform.
Olympian Access / PowerWizard
Historically a Caterpillar-owned brand using Perkins engines, Olympian control panels are streamlined variants of PowerWizard or early EMCP series, optimized for cost-effective standby applications.
